Magic oils

Preparing a magic oil is simple but of course you have to know the meaning of the plants you will use and above all you must concentrate on the purpose for which you prepare the oil. The so-called witches, anciently and originally did not possess essential oils as we have today therefore they prepared the oils themselves. From the collection to the choice of plants to be used in the preparation process, everything must be focused on concentration. The oils are used to grease candles and magic tools but also to massage or grease objects suitable for a magical purpose. It would be better to use fresh herbs picked or grown by yourself but if you cannot and use dried herbs you will need to use more of them. You can decide to use only one plant or more plants but don’t put more than 3 at a time.

Which oil to use?

You can use almond oil or sunflower oil and you don’t like olive oil even if extra virgin olive oil is traditionally used because it is considered the most natural. Remember that if you heat the oils before using them you must do it in a bain-marie and make them only warm so as not to lose the active ingredients of the plants you used.

How to anoint magic candles?

To grease the candles use cold oils or at room temperature and remember that the direction in which you spread the oils also has a special meaning. Many esotericists call this process: dressing the candle. In propitiatory rites that favor the growth of something, the candle should be greased starting at the top and ending at the bottom. Some people use another method that is to start from the wick and in the clockwise direction to reach the center and then from the base to return to the center. In the rites of expulsion or in rites in which something is banned or separated, the candle should be greased starting at the top and ending at the bottom or starting from the center towards the base in a counterclockwise direction and from the center towards the base.

Here are some recipes for oils:

To anoint the candles of rituals:

We fill a small glass jar with incense in grains and fill the edge with fine olive oil. Bubbles should not form so with a wooden ladle pressed well trying not to break the grains and then close and hold for 4 weeks in a place where the sunlight does not reach directly. It would be better to keep it cool in a dry place and at night leave it on the window sill so that it will be charged with moonlight. Every day turn the jar and check that no bubbles have formed. After the 4 weeks filtered in a colander where inside you will also have placed some gauze and do not crush the grains that we could let dry in the sun and use to prepare some incense balls for fumigations.

Attracting love and finances:

We fill a glass jar with chamomile flowers and leaves and fill the edge with fine olive oil. Bubbles should not form, so with a wooden ladle press chamomile well and then close and hold for 4 weeks in a place where the sunlight does not reach directly. Every day turn the jar and check that no bubbles have formed and if necessary add more flowers and leaves. After 4 weeks strain into a colander where you will also have placed gauze inside and pressed the flowers and leaves well. Your oil is ready to be used and if you want to use it lukewarm for massage, remember to heat it in a bain-marie.
